Melt Collective is a student-led recycling workshop and laboratory based out of UBC campus.

Our primary goal is to prove that UBC’s waste plastics can be upcycled and sold on campus, by developing a community who promotes transparency in recycling and spreads education about closed-loop economies and extended product life-cycle awareness. As a creative sustainability hub, the Plastic Workshop would give students the opportunity to bring their product ideas to life from free waste materials. Further, by closing the loop and localizing recycling, we reduce the carbon and economic cost of recycling this material.
